The CW has renewed Gossip Girl and Nikita as well as freshman drama Hart of Dixie and ended the run of buzzy freshman dramas Ringer and The Secret Circle.
The second-season pickup of Dixie, created by Leila Gerstein, brings Josh Schwartz and Savage’s count to an impressive four series on the air next season. (With the pickup of NBC pilot The New Normal, Ryan Murphy can claim the same.) The Monday night drama stars Rachel Bilson as a fish-out-of-water New York doctor practicing down South. Dixie follows the network’s move into shows with more procedural elements than heavily serialized dramas like Gossip Girl.

Rachel Bilson Understands Co-star Romances
By Eric on Apr 29, 12 • Categories: Articles, News Updates • Comments: 0
Rachel Bilson believes it is “natural” for actors to date their co-stars.
The ‘Waiting For Forever’ star met her boyfriend of five years Hayden Christensen on the set of 2007 movie ‘Jumper’, and she thinks it’s a normal occurrence to embark on a relationship with someone who you meet through work.
She said: “Dating co-stars is natural. When you’re working with someone, it’s habit. I met my man at work. I’m attracted to mysterious men. Every woman can relate to that, right?”
But Rachel – who also dated her ‘O.C.’ co-star Adam Brody for three years before they split in 2006 – admits she doesn’t play by the rules when she is in a relationship because she prefers to rely on her instincts when judging whether a man is right for her or not.
She added: “I’ve been in relationships where we’ve said, ‘I love you’ after two weeks. I think it depends on the person and the relationship. If it feels right, go with it. Love shouldn’t play by the rules. It’s all about chemistry.”
Rachel Bilson – Rachel Bilson Is Ready For Kids
By Eric on Apr 29, 12 • Categories: Articles, News Updates • Comments: 0
Rachel Bilson feels she is ready for kids because she has finally settled down after a tumultuous period in her life during her twenties.
Rachel Bilson is thinking about having children.
The 30-year-old actress – who has been dating actor Hayden Christensen for the past five years – is ”pretty happy” with her love-life after being stuck in ”so many love triangles” during her twenties and she is now considering starting a family.
The brunette beauty – who dated her ‘O.C.’ co-star Adam Brody for three years before they split in 2006 – said: ”I’ve been in so many love triangles on TV and in real life. I’m pretty happy with where I am right now.
”I figured everything out in my twenties. It’s nice to be heading towards the next chapter and thinking about children and things like that.”
Rachel believes she is a good girlfriend to Hayden – who she met on the set of 2007 movie ‘Jumper’ – because she spends time with the 31-year-old star’s friends, but the ‘Last Kiss’ actress also ensures she balances the time well by getting together with her own pals on regular occasions.
She added to more! magazine: ”I feel I do well as a girlfriend. I can hang out with all my boyfriend’s friends. I know how to roll with the guys.
”It’s important not to ditch your mates when you’re in a relationship. Lots of girls do it, but you need to remember they will always be there for you. I surround myself with my girlfriends.”
Rachel will next be seen on Hart of Dixie showing in the UK on Really at 8pm from 30th April.
Tim Matheson on Gary Cole & Working with Rachel Bilson
By Eric on Apr 09, 12 • Categories: Articles, Hart of Dixie, News Updates • Comments: 0
There’s a certain sense of comfort whenever Gary Cole shows up on a TV show — you know he’ll be great, so you can relax and enjoy the show. When the actor shows up in the Monday, April 9 episode of “Hart of Dixie” as the father of Rachel Bilson’s Zoe Hart, you have “HoD” star Tim Matheson to thank.
“We’ve talked about this character all season long, and now he’s got to show up,” Matheson tells Zap2it. “Who can live up to that? He’s got to walk in the door and he has to have credibility and to be able to go toe-to-toe with Rachel, who is one of the most true, honest, believable actresses I’ve ever worked with — and one of the most courageous — so it was tough.”
Thankfully, Matheson picked up the phone and called his pal Cole, who immediately agreed to the job. “I was really pleased to reach out to Gary Cole and to get him to do it, because I’ve worked with Gary on ‘A Very Brady Sequel,’ a broad comedy, I’ve worked with him on ‘The West Wing,’ which wasn’t broad comedy [laughs], and I’ve seen him onstage and he is one of our finest actors. He loved the script and just jumped right in.”
Matheson’s Brick Breeland has complicated feelings toward Zoe, his new business partner. They’re adversarial at first, which was difficult because he has such affection for Bilson in real life. Thankfully, Brick’s opinion of Zoe has shifted slightly throughout the show’s first season.
“Once I met Rachel, I had to work so hard to overcome my real feelings for her because she’s just such a dear and you just adore her, you know? And the audience loves her. To be mean or devious or tough, you have to as a human overcome your natural caring tendencies and suppress those for the other characters before you can act against them. So I guess I was doing that, and now those feelings are being allowed to come out, how much I like her and how much I feel protective of Zoe Hart.”
Aside from the daddy drama, Brick and the gang will face plenty of other challenges as Season 1 wraps up — even romantic ones. Brick’s daughter Lemon has been trying to get him to move on from her mother, and we’ll see that storyline continue.
“The best defense is a good offense,” he explains. “Lemon is trying to push him towards getting involved with somebody else, and she’s done it a couple of times. I think that what’s exciting about the character is that he is becoming aware of the fact that he needs to move on with his life. You can use all sorts of excuses and reasons to avoid moving ahead. There is a corner that Brick turns in the finale episode that is heartening and looks like it’ll be fun.”
Another fun challenge for Matheson? Taking on Gilbert and Sullivan in an upcoming episode. “It was perhaps one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, because I don’t consider myself a singer. On this show, every single one of these wonderful actors all are singers and have done it either on Broadway or in films or somewhere!”
He didn’t quite realize the difficulty of what he was agreeing to when he said he’d sing on camera. “They came up with the fastest song, I think, that’s ever been written. It’s from ‘Pirates of Penzance,’ ‘I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General.’ Which is literally, it’s a joke. And it requires just the fastest elocution and just some of the most technical singing ever done, and I was just in a flop sweat panic for about a week while I tried to learn it.”
Don’t worry, things turned out just fine. “I was very pleased. It was really fun. Hopefully it’ll be funny”
To Fans of ‘The O.C.,’ Rachel Bilson is Endlessly Summer

You can take the girl out of “The O.C.,” but you can’t take “The O.C.” out of the girl.
Rachel Bilson, 30, is on a new series called “Hart of Dixie” and has a new film called “Life Happens.” But fans still know her as Summer Roberts from a 2003-07 Fox TV hit about kids dealing with sand, surf, and situations in La La Land.
“I still get asked about the show,” says Bilson. “Or I’ll get an ‘O.C.’ shout-out in an airport.”
In “Life Happens” (opening Friday), lifelong girlfriends deal with changes when one gets pregnant during a one-night stand.
“This film says that you can’t do it alone. You need your girlfriends,” she says. “I’ve had the same girlfriends since I was 13,” she says. “We’re still so close. I don’t know what I’d do without them. They’re my family, too.”
Bilson is also a fashion columnist for InStyle magazine. Her spring advice? “Get out of all the black, but black is always a good go-to. It’s spring, so mix a little color in. Neon and vibrant colors are everywhere.”
Any fashion faux pas she sees on the streets? “I try not to pay attention the bad stuff,” Bilson insists. “To each his own, I say.”
Rachel Bilson Takes Shoes Off For TOMS One Day Without Shoes
By Eric on Apr 09, 12 • Categories: Articles, News Updates • Comments: 0
Rachel Bilson is just one celebrity joining in TOMS “One Day Without Shoes” cause on April 10, as she’s seen in this exclusive Cambio photo.
The TOMS “One Day Without Shoes” campaign gets the support of celebrities every year (check out this Cambio video from last year to see who was involved), who join the effort to raise awareness about children in need of shoes.
This year, the “One Day Without Shoes” event includes Bilson, Armie Hammer, Heather Morris, Chris Pine, Gillian Zinser, and Julia Jones, along with many others, who will go without shoes on April 10.
TOMS asks that you go barefoot for the day to support the “One Day Without Shoes” effort, with the goal to get people to be involved and thinking about how to make the world better.
TOMS’ founder and chief shoe giver Blake Mycoskie created the One for One shoe concept, explaining that “with every pair of shoes someone purchases, a pair of new shoes will be given to a child in need.”
Mycoskie explained the One Day Without Shoes campaign: “This movement is about raising awareness and asking people to do something – anything – without shoes. We are so eager to see the world’s participation this year. So, do what you normally do – just without shoes and help start the conversation.”
The press release explains: “On Tuesday, April 10, TOMS will ask the world to go without shoes for its annual One Day Without Shoes event. This is the day each year that TOMS raises awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life. Last year, people went without shoes at over 1,000 events in over 25 countries around the globe.”
TOMS asks everyone to participate, noting that taking off your shoes can raise awareness about the millions of children who are exposed to injury and disease because they don’t have proper footwear.
Visit OneDayWithoutShoes.com for updates, event information, and an event tool kit. You can also stay connected through the One Day Without Shoes mobile application for iPhone and Android.
Miley Cyrus recently posted a Facebook status about her involvement in the TOMS event, writing: “I’m going without shoes on April 10th so kids don’t have to. Join me: www.onedaywithoutshoes.com”
